House of Wolves Makes #5 in Consequence of Sound's Top 10 Songs of the Week

House of Wolves” is the solo project of Rey Villalobos. The band name coming from the literal translation of his family name. A Los Angeles native, Villalobos’ family originates from two different sides of the globe - Mexico & Italy. Falling in love with the Chopin nocturnes was Villalobos’ first musical love. He began studying classical piano as a kid, then moved on to drums, and now composes most of his music on the guitar. The last few years Villalobos has spent much of his time touring Europe with his debut release “Fold in the Wind” on Fargo Records out of Paris France, and second album “Daughter of the Sea” on Dusk Dais Dawn out of Ireland. For his upcoming third album Villalobos reunited with producer John Morgan Askew where they recorded at Tucker Martine’s studio in Portland Oregon. House of Wolves’ music is a singular voice with a unique sense of rhythm and a love of dark melancholic melodies.

He recently made #5 on Consequence of Sound's Top 10 Songs of the Week, ahead of the likes of Moby, Warpaint and Danny Brown.
