Brooklyn, NY – Atlas Engine, the one-man endeavor from Brooklyn multi-instrumentalist Nick LaFalce (ex-BRAEVES, Terrible Terrible), will release the debut EP, “after the end” on July 29th, 2016. Self-recorded and produced, the EP showcases LaFalce’s knack for bending and blending genres: From the intricate layers and harmonies of Local Natives, to Tame Impala-inspired falsettos, and soaring melodies reminiscent of The Killers or U2, it’s clear that this diverse set of influences carves out a unique place for Atlas Engine to stand among them.
He is now premiering the single "This is The Place" on renowned music blog The Wild Honey Pie.
Each song by Atlas Engine feels like its own self-contained journey, and this is especially apparent with “This is the Place”, the second track off the debut EP “after the end”. With syncopated drum patterns reminiscent of Local Natives along with atmospheric textures and soaring melodies, the track acts as a perfect display of multi-instrumentalist Nick LaFalce’s many talents. Abandoning conventional song structure, LaFalce builds what appears to be a “standard” indie rock tune before making a sudden left turn and never looking back. The mood takes a dramatic shift both musically and lyrically - boiling down and building back up until eventually breaking like a fever. Through all the twists and turns, the result is a hopeful direction for the future of modern indie rock.
